WHO:   Steven S. Spitz and Howard Schiffer to be on “The Simon And Damon Triathlon Show” at

LATalkRadio.com.  Steven is an amateur triathlete, sponsored by his employers -- premium sports nutrition company Medical Research Institute (MRI), and its parent company, Natrol, Inc., a premier U.S. nutraceutical company based in California.  Steven is raising funds for the Vitamin Angels charity (donation link), which reduces child mortality caused by micronutrient deficiencies.  Vitamin Angels connects infants and children under five with vital nutrients, helping children attain good health and the opportunity to lead meaningful and productive lives.

WHAT: The Simon and Damon Triathlon Show is not about pro triathletes nor the ITU (as much as the

show hosts like these topics).  This show is about fascinating “regular” people who inhabit the world of swimming, biking, and running.  Simon and Damon are over 40, and they like to race hard but still have a life…they choose to race “sprint” distances, and not take themselves too seriously.  What's different about this show is that the hosts are NOT trying to sell themselves as experts.  Rather, they bring experts into the show so that the hosts and their audience can learn and grow together.  The show’s goal is to add value to the daily lifestyle of triathletes, as well as to entice “newbies” into the sport.  The show has no heirs, no preconceived notions, and no other agenda other than to be insightful, articulate, and funny with respect to all things triathlon.

HOW/WHEN:    Logon to live Web Stream at LAtalkRadio.com channel 2 on Thursday, August 27, 2009,

11:00 a.m. – 11:50 a.m. PST

Online archive available September 1, 2009-on at LAtalkRadio.com/Simon.php

WHY:    Spitz will share his story about overcoming obstacles…as someone who went from overweight

and out-of-shape around two years ago to losing almost 90 pounds in about one year, transforming himself into a triathlete ready to compete in the Ford Ironman World Championship!  But, an accident and resulting broken collarbone necessitated Spitz’s withdrawal from the world-famous triathlon in 2008.  Luckily, his spot was transferred to 2009, and he is registered and ready to race.

MORE:  Four lucky callers during the show will win a FREE “triathlete training kit” full of MRI and Natrol®

supplements for endurance athletes.
